Premiere: Worth It [a short film]

After a few months of remote auditions, rehearsals, and pandemic setbacks, Worth It, a short film I’m in, in premiered today! It’s a short and sweet story of an office worker who’s wanting a little more out of life…

I’m very happy to be part of the passionate indie filmmaking scene making stories in the Bay Area. Thank you to the David Papa Studios crew for a great time!

Live Event: Dramatic Reading of William Shakespeare’s Star Wars: Jedi the Last

Live Event: Dramatic Reading of William Shakespeare’s Star Wars: Jedi the Last

An exciting and very nerdy update from me – in December, I was cast in an event for a dramatic reading of Ian Doescher’s book, William Shakespeare’s Star Wars: Jedi the Last! Viewable here -> link

I read for the character Rose Tico, and I had so much fun performing alongside an amazing cast of cosplayers, writers, YouTubers, artists, creators, and passionate Star Wars fans! πŸ™‚

Even better: the cast and crew organized this online event to fundraise for a project called Camp Unicorn, a mutual aid fund dedicated to supporting members of the trans community, both through fundraising efforts, as well as a physical location that, when finally up-and-running, will function as a safe-haven for endangered trans people. This was created by Izzy (@bellaj0713 on Twitter) as a response to increasing transphobic shelter policies in the US.

The event was a success online, and so far raised over $8000!

The Acting Habit’s 21 Self-Tapes Challenge

The Acting Habit’s 21 Self-Tapes Challenge

I’m currently participating in Puro Casting’s 21-Day Self-Tape Challenge; 24 hours to receive a material, memorize it, tape it, and send it in, for 21 days straight! I’m on maybe Day 6 or 7 so far, and it’s fast-paced, challenging, and fun, with a very active and supportive actor community that keeps you on your toes.

So far in these exercises, I’ve been: a sad parent, a quirky teenager, a CIA director, a psychiatrist… many more to come! Highly recommend this challenge to any actors who are looking to step up their auditioning and self-tape game.
